Beloved, I want to share with you what's been pressing on my heart as we step into June together. The writer of Hebrews put down a sentence that I cannot put down:
Two kinds of people. Those who shrink back. And those who have faith. The first group is destroyed by their hesitation. The second group preserves their souls by leaning in.
This month I want to ask our church family the same question I've been asking myself in prayer: which group are we?
Faith is not a passive virtue. It is not something we carry quietly through life, hoping the storm doesn't notice us. Faith is the lifeline of the righteous — and it is the fuel that drives every step of our forward progress in God. In this season, in this country, in this culture, in this church family, God is not asking us to play it safe. He is asking us to step forward.
When fear says hesitate — move forward.
When the world says retreat — move forward.
When your own heart says you've done enough — move forward.
This is our June theme, beloved: Faith Forward. It’s the heartbeat of everything I’ll be preaching this month.
I'll be praying for our church family this month. May we not be those who shrink back. May we be those who, by faith, preserve our souls and press on.
